Meet Cara ‘the Kiwi’
Kia ora, I’m Cara — the slightly chaotic, highly organised ‘wild woman’ behind Snow Express.
I started the Snow Express in 2024 because I had a vision to get people safely, cheaply, and happily up to Mt Hutt, Mt Lyford, and Porters Alpine Resort without the drama of driving themselves up a snowy mountain.
I’m a mum to two great teenagers, Oska and Chloe, and slave to three lucky cats, Pamela Anderson, Fraggle Rock and Fancy Pants.
Some people call me a bit of a FOMO — and honestly, they’re not wrong. If there’s something going on, I’m usually already halfway into it. I love getting out and about on my bike, jumping on the jet ski, and exploring every corner of beautiful Aotearoa like it’s my personal playground. I’m not afraid of trying new things, because variety is the spice of life!
When I’m not causing a bit of organised chaos, I’m a fully qualified professional driver with all the licence’s — and a fair few stories too. I’ve driven underground in gold mines (yep, proper underground), hauled truck and trailer units all over the South Island, and safely moved people around in everything from big touring coaches to fancy little luxury rides.
At the end of the day though, I’m all about people, good laughs, good vibes, and getting everyone there safely — even if we have a bit of fun along the way.
Meet Steve - aka ‘the Moose’
Gidday, I’m Steve — my friends call me “the Moose”.
I’m a born and bred southern man from Dunedin, and I’ve spent years driving all over New Zealand. I’m not a big talker, but you can bet your bottom dollar I’ve got your back. Safe, steady, and reliable is how I do things.
I’ve recently moved up to Canterbury and I’ll be driving for Snow Express for the 2026 winter season. I’m really looking forward to meeting everyone, getting people up the mountain safely, and making sure the ride is smooth and hassle-free.
When I’m not behind the wheel, you’ll find me doing what I love most — 4WD adventures, hunting, fishing, boating, and mountain biking. If it’s outdoors and a bit rugged, I’m in my element.
At the end of the day, it’s about getting you there safely.
