I’m Cara, founder of Snow Express. I started this business with a vision of providing cheap and cheerful, safe, and reliable transport to three amazing ski fields in the Canterbury region: Mt Hutt, Mt Lyford, and Porters Alpine Resort. What began as a simple idea has grown into a true labour of love — one I’ve built with passion, creativity, and a whole lot of heart.

Adventure has always been part of who I am. I grew up in a yachting family, spending summers exploring the Hauraki Gulf, Bay of Islands, Coromandel and so much more exciting places, which sparked my love for the outdoors, travel, and discovering new places within my own special country, New Zealand.

I’m a down-to-earth Kiwi woman, born in Auckland, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design and a background across many different industries. I’ve never been afraid to give anything a go, and life has taught me to be tough, resilient, and hardworking. No matter the challenge, I back myself, stay positive, and get the job done with heart and determination. While I’ve worked across many fields, the one I’ve truly fallen in love with is transport — and especially transporting people and sharing my beautiful backyard.

For me, it’s not just a passion — it’s a drive. I love a challenge and I love getting out and living life fully. You’ll usually find me biking, walking, skiing, or out on my jet ski. I’m also a big cat lover and a very proud mum to my two amazing kids.

In the summer months, I work as a contract tour driver for several companies, as well as providing wedding transport, wine and food festival transport, and a wide range of private charter experiences throughout Canterbury and beyond.

I’ve made some amazing friends along my journey so far — both customers and tourism operators — and I really value the connections I’ve built in this industry.

I’m highly safety focused and always looking for ways to improve everything I do — whether that’s towing 22-metre truck and trailer units around the South Island or transporting VIP guests in private luxury vehicles. I take pride in doing things properly, with care, personality, and flexibility, you don’t often find that in larger companies.

Over the years I’ve driven underground in gold mines, loaded planes, operated truck and trailer units throughout the South Island, driven private luxury vehicles, urban buses, and large touring coaches. I genuinely love what I do, and I’m passionate about sharing that experience with others.
